Small business copywriting: Your bestpitch, inyour ownwords.
The sentence that says what you do, the answers to the questions you are asked every week, and the copy for every page of the site. Taken off your own calls rather than invented in a meeting.
Sound familiar
You explain it better out loud.
In the third minute of a phone call you are clear, specific and hard to argue with. The website gets none of that.
Your homepage says welcome.
It greets people. It does not say what you do, who you do it for, or why you are the one to call.
You answer the same five questions every week.
Price, timeline, what is included, what happens if it goes wrong, and whether you cover their street. None of it is written down anywhere.
What is included
Your site works. Your brand is letting it down.
Brand, 3 weeks
- Positioning, and the sentence that says what you do
- Lockups: primary, stacked, mark only, one color
- Files for the sign writer, the van, the favicon, social
- The palette with its values, the type with its sizes
- Copy for up to 5 pages, and two rounds of changes
How it runs
- Week 1
Listen
We sit in on your sales calls and read the inquiries you have already answered. Your best lines exist; most of them have never been written down.
- Week 2
The sentence
One line that says what you do and who for, checked against the people who nearly bought and the people who chose somebody else.
- Week 3
The pages
Copy for every page, the answers in writing, and the lines to reuse in quotes, emails and your Google Business Profile.
The terms
- Paid in thirds: signing, week two review, launch.
- Stop at the week two review and you owe nothing further.
- Two founders, three projects at a time. That is the capacity, not a tactic.
- Retainers cancel with thirty days notice.
- Domains, code, fonts, analytics and every account are registered in your name at kickoff, not transferred at the end. Leaving us is a password change, not a negotiation.
Questions owners ask
- How much does small business copywriting cost?
- After a twenty minute call about your business, we send a written scope and one fixed number within two working days. It is paid in thirds, and if the week two review lands wrong you stop there and owe nothing further.
- Will it sound like me or like you?
- Like you. We take the lines you already use on the phone and hand them back written down. If a sentence is not something you would say out loud to a customer, it does not ship.
- I already have a website. Can you just do the words?
- Yes. Words works on its own, and whoever runs your site can drop the copy in. If the site itself is part of the problem we will say so on the call rather than write around it.
- Do you write blog posts?
- Not as a habit. We will write a page when it answers a question people actually search for, and we will tell you when content is not the thing holding you back.
Twenty minutes with the founders, about your business first. No deck, no pitch.
