How we work: From the first 20 minutes to long after launch.
Five steps. Your part comes to about 2 hours in total. Here is what you do, what we do, and what you have in your hands at each step.
- Step 1
Get in touch
A 20 minute conversation about your business. We ask what you sell, who buys it and what gets in the way. No sales pitch. If we cannot help, we say so.
- You
- Tell us about the business in your own words.
- We
- Listen, ask questions, and tell you honestly whether we can help.
- You receive
- An honest answer on whether we are a good fit
- A clear idea of what happens next
- Step 2
See the plan
Within 2 working days after we talk, you get a written plan. It says what we would build and why, in words you would use yourself.
- You
- Read it. Ask anything that is not clear. Say yes or no.
- We
- Write the plan, and answer your questions.
- You receive
- A written plan in plain English
- A chance to ask questions before you decide
- Step 3
Show us how you work
We spend an hour with you to see how the business runs day to day: how people book, how you get paid, what you answer over and over. We build around that, not around a template.
- You
- An hour showing us how a normal day goes.
- We
- Take notes, look at the tools you use, and ask for what we need.
- You receive
- Notes on how your business really runs
- A build that fits the way you already work
- Step 4
We build it, you see it early
You see real work early and often, not one big reveal at the end. When you see something you do not like, tell us. Say the hard thing early and we will change it.
- You
- Look at what we show you, and say yes or no.
- We
- Build it, write the words, and join it up with the tools you use now.
- You receive
- Real pages and screens to look at as we go
- Everything set up in your name, from the first day
- Step 5
Launch, and we stay
We show you and your staff how it works. Then we stay on. We keep it running, fix what breaks, and add what you need next.
- You
- Try it, ask us anything, and tell us what to do next.
- We
- Launch it, train you and your staff, and look after it.
- You receive
- A short walk through for you and your staff
- Someone to write to in plain English, who answers
What you own
- Your web address, in your name.
- Your accounts, like your calendar, payments and email, in your name.
- Your files: logo files, photos and the words on your site.
- Your website and its code, in your name.
- If you ever leave us, you keep all of it. Leaving us should be boring.
How we work with you
Senior people on every project
The people you meet are the people who build it. Nobody learns on your project.
Plain English
No jargon and no long documents of terms. If it needs explaining, we have not done it well.
US hours
We are a remote studio with people in Europe and India, and we work US hours. You can reach us when your business is open.
A written plan within 2 working days
After we talk, you do not wait weeks to find out what we would do.
We stay after launch
We keep it running, fix what breaks, and add what you need next.
A limit on how much we take on
We keep the number of projects small, so yours never waits in a queue.
What we will not do
- Take on work we do not think will pay off for you. We say so in the first conversation.
- Run ads to a website we know is broken.
- Hold your web address, code or fonts back.
- Build on a platform you cannot leave.
- Tell you your business needs a story when it needs a booking button that works.
Start with 20 minutes
Tell us about your business. If we can help, you get a written plan within 2 working days. If we cannot, we will say so.
