Questions: Plain answers to good questions.

What owners ask us before they get in touch. If yours is not here, ask it when we talk.

Getting started

What happens when I get in touch?

We set up 20 minutes about your business. We ask what you sell, who buys it, and what gets in the way. No sales pitch. If we cannot help, we will say so.

Get in touch →
What happens after the first conversation?

If we can help, you get a written plan within 2 working days. It says what we would build and why, in plain English. You read it, ask questions, and decide. There is no pressure to say yes.

See the steps →
I am not good with computers. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We do the setup. We show you and your staff how it works, and we are one email away after.

How much of my time does it take?

About 2 hours in total. A short conversation, an hour showing us how you work, and a yes or no when we show you the work.

What kinds of business do you work with?

Established, owner run businesses in the US. Dentists, vets, physios, bakers, joiners, builders, restaurants and charter captains, to name some. If you run a business that people already trust, we can probably help.

Websites

How do I create a website for my business?

Decide what the site has to do first: be found, take bookings, or sell. Get a web address in your own name. Then build it yourself with a website builder, or have someone build it for you.

Is a do it yourself website builder good enough?

For some, yes. The catch is usually the builder's name in your web address, their ads on your pages, and limits on what the site can do. For a business people are comparing, those limits can show.

Website builders, honestly →
How do you redesign a website?

We start with what the current site does badly. We keep the pages and web addresses that already bring people in, and point the old addresses at the new pages so Google does not lose you. Then we rebuild around what customers do: phone, book or buy.

The redesign checklist →
Can you look at my current website first?

Yes. We go through it page by page on a phone and a computer, and write down what works, what does not, and what to fix first. It is a good place to start if you are not sure you need a new site.

Website check up →
Will people find my business on Google?

We set your site up so Google can read it, and we fill in your Google Business Profile with you. We cannot promise a place on the page. Nobody honest can. We do the things that help.

Showing up on Google →
Will my website work on a phone?

Yes. Most people look at a business on their phone first, so we build for the phone and then check it on a computer. Buttons are large and the writing is easy to read.

Websites for small businesses →
Who writes the words on the site?

We do, after talking to you. You know the business, so we ask questions and write it down in plain language. You read every page and change what does not sound like you.

Booking and payments

Can customers book online?

Yes. They pick a day and a time on your website, and it lands in your calendar. You decide which days and hours are open. The booking pages on our sample websites show how it looks. The businesses on them are made up.

Online booking →
Can I take a deposit or a payment on my website?

Yes. Customers can pay by card when they book, or when you send the bill. The money goes to your own account, not ours. We set it up and show you where to see it.

Online payments →
Do I have to change the tools I use now?

Usually not. We set things up to work with what you already use, like QuickBooks or your calendar.

Can you build something just for my business?

Yes. Some businesses need a tool nobody sells, such as a quote form for roofers or a stock list for a bakery. We build what fits how you work. The ones on our site are samples made up to show what is possible.

Logo and look

What do I get when you design a logo?

A logo in the forms you need: full color, one color, stacked and small. Files for the sign maker, the van and the website. Your colors and lettering written down, so every future sign and flyer matches.

Logo and look →
Can AI design or redesign my logo?

It can give you ideas quickly. It struggles with a logo that still works small, in one color, and looks like nobody else's. In the US, a logo made entirely by AI is also hard to protect.

AI and your logo →
I already have a logo. Do I need a new one?

Not always. If it is clear, works small and still fits your business, keep it. We can tidy it up and make it consistent on your sign, van and website instead.

After launch

What happens after it is live?

We stay on. We keep it running, fix what breaks, and add what you need next.

How we work →
Can I change things on my site myself?

Yes, if you want to. We show you how to change the things owners change most, like hours, prices and photos. If you would rather send us an email, that works too.

What if something breaks?

Tell us and we fix it. You write to us in plain English, and a person answers. You do not need to know what went wrong.

Who owns it?

You do. Your web address, accounts and files are in your name. If you ever leave us, you keep all of it.

What you own →
Can you run my marketing for me?

Yes, if you want that. We can keep your site fresh, answer inquiries, ask customers for reviews and keep your customer list tidy. Some owners prefer to do it themselves, and that is fine.

Working with us

Who will I deal with?

The people who do the work. Senior people are on every project, from the first conversation to launch. You will not be passed to a salesperson or to someone learning on your project.

Where are you based?

We are a remote studio with people in Europe and India, and we work US hours.

Can I see your work?

Yes. Our sample websites, apps and tools are all on the site, and you can click through them. Every sample is marked as made up, because the businesses are. After we talk, the written plan shows what we would build for you.

See the samples →
What if you cannot help me?

We will say so in the first conversation, and where we can, point you somewhere better. We would rather tell you that than take on work we do not think will pay off for you.

What will you not do?

We will not hold your web address, accounts or files back. We will not build on a platform you cannot leave. We will not run ads to a website we know is broken. We say the hard thing early.

What we will not do →

What owners ask us before they get in touch. If yours is not here, ask it when we talk.
